Before I Turn 33, Here's What I Want to Do Differently

So, what do I want to do differently in year 33? Honest answer: I have no idea. I’ve always been the type to plan for everything, down to the second, but I’ve come to realize that I wasn’t allowing life to happen as it should, and I spent a lot of time worrying and ruminating.

I want that to be different.

Not the usual list of becoming a completely new person (I just may be; I’m not closing myself off), waking up at 5 am everyday lol, drinking green juice, and suddenly having my entire life together. Let’s be realistic 😂

I’m thinking about the little things that make life feel fuller.

For starters, I want to get out more (If you know me, you know I’ve been saying this for years. I mean it this time 😬)

I’ve realized (and many of us do this too) that sometimes I put off doing things because the thought of going somewhere alone scares me. So, I want to visit new places, try new experiences, learn new things, and go on little adventures without waiting for someone else’s schedule to align with mine.

What if the experience is wonderful? What if I meet interesting people? What if I discover a new favorite place? And what if I don’t? At least I’ll have an interesting story to tell.

I also want to keep making room for the people I love.

This year has reminded me how much relationships matter, and I want to be more intentional about nurturing the friendships and connections that make life meaningful.

I want to keep showing up for myself, too. In my health, in my faith, my work, and the quiet things that help me feel grounded.

But perhaps the biggest thing I want to carry into 33 is a willingness to keep learning.

This year humbled me in ways I didn’t expect. I’ve realized that becoming wiser doesn’t mean having all the answers; sometimes, it simply means being willing to ask better questions.

I want to remain curious about the world, open to new perspectives, and brave enough to try things I’m not immediately good at. And yes, I want to have more fun.

Not everything needs to become a lesson, a productivity hack, a five-year plan. Sometimes, I just want to enjoy an experience without wondering how it contributes to my personal development. Imagine that 😂

As I close the chapter on 32, I’m not making grand promises about who I’ll become at 33.

I just want to live a little more, love people well, deepen my faith, keep growing, and stop postponing experiences while waiting for the perfect circumstances.

Here’s to another year of figuring things out, making memories, and discovering more of who I am.
